THIS Kent Messenger picture shows women hard at work in the bottling plant of Foster Clark's factory in Maidstone.

George Foster Clark, later a Mayor of Maidstone, founded the Eiffel Tower Food Manufactory which later became Foster Clark Ltd in Hart Street.

He died in 1932 but his mark on the town lives on today in the shape of the Foster Clark Estate.
