Driver's car seized by Kent Police in Maidstone after arriving to collect friend whose motor had just been confiscated

A dopey driver had his car confiscated by police - after arriving to pick up a friend who had just had his motor seized.

The hapless pair's brush with the law began when officers stopped the first man - a 29-year-old from Maidstone - on suspicion of driving while disqualified on the A26 at Barming yesterday evening.

Having had his Mazda 6 seized, the man called a friend to come and get him.

He promptly arrived, only to have his wheels taken for driving without insurance.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "The 29-year-old from Maidstone was reported for driving while disqualified.

"A 31-year-old from Maidstone was also given a traffic offence report for driving with no insurance after he arrived in a Honda. Both vehicles were seized."
