Police helicopter used in hunt for suspected burglar in Maidstone

A police helicopter joined the hunt for a suspected burglar last night.

The aircraft from the National Police Air Service was seen over Maidstone during the search following a reported break-in at a home in the Wallis Avenue area of the town.

Kent Police was called at 10.42pm and officers on the ground were supported by the helicopter.

At around 11pm a 29-year-old man from Maidstone was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He remains in custody as inquiries continue.
