Hooded robbers attack jewellery store assistant

A SHOP assistant was left shocked but unhurt after he was attacked during a raid on a town centre jewellery store.

The robbery happened at Cornell and Sons in Gabriel’s Hill in Maidstone.

Two men wearing hooded tops went into the shop, held down the member of staff while a third man grabbed several rings from the window display.

There we no customers in the shop at the time. The three suspects escaped down Gabriel’s Hill and through the alley by the side of the Strawberry Moons bar and past Yorks public house.

The incident occurred at about 4.50pm last Thursday. All three were black and aged between 18 and 25. They wore dark clothes, including tracksuit bottoms. It is believed they were using a white transit type van with a red star sign written on the bonnet, rear door and side panel.
