TWO workers who have been employed by Securitas were among those arrested over the £53million robbery at its Tonbridge depot, it has been revealed.

Kent Police have confirmed that a man and a woman have been questioned about their movements while working at the depot.

A police spoksman said: "Kent Police can confirm that one man who is an agency worker with Securitas was arrested by officers investigating the robbery.

"Another agency worker, a woman, who had previously worked for Securitas, was also arrested. Both have been released on police bail."

Meanwhile, Kent Police chiefs have released footage and photographs that show just some of the millions of pounds officers have recovered less than a fortnight after Britain’s biggest cash robbery.

The images show hundreds of cash bundles found during a joint operation involving Kent and Metropolitan police officers in south east London on Thursday, March 2.

The money, approximately £9.6 million, was discovered by officers investigating the Tonbridge raid in a number of bags at an industrial site in Welling.

The cash, which has since been forensically examined by police, is now being stored at a secure location.

So far Kent Police has confirmed it has recovered a total of more than £11 million stolen from the Securitas depot on 22 February – with the total set to rise even further after another ‘significant’ find confirmed by Kent’s Chief Constable Mike Fuller on Monday.

The latest recovery of cash is still being forensically examined but it is estimated to be several million pounds.

Previously, £1.3 million was recovered from a white Ford Transit van found in a car park at the Ashford International Hotel two days after the robbery and a smaller amount found during other police searches.
