M20 traffic held due to lorry fire by Blue Bell Hill near Maidstone and Aylesford

Traffic is flowing freely again after an earlier lorry fire on the M20 caused major delays.

All traffic was temporarily held earlier today due to the trailer blaze on the coastbound carriageway between J5, Aylesford, to J6, the A229 by Maidstone and Blue Bell Hill.

There were reports that smoke was blowing across both sides of the carriageway.

Later two lanes were opened, with just one remaining shut, but that too was opened at 6.10pm.
