Madonna coming to Mote Park in Maidstone

Madonna will head the line-up at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Maidstone.

The superstar will headline the main stage of the event, in Mote Park, on Saturday, May 10, supported by The Fratellis, Usher, Scouting For Girls, Duffy, The Feeling, Robyn and The Hoosiers.

On Sunday, May 11, the main stage will be headlined by The Kooks and will also feature The Enemy, Nelly, Goldfrapp, The Pigeon Detectives, Newton Faulkner, OneRepublic and Adele.

Newton Faulkner said: "It should be a good day, pretty much get straight off a plane and walk on stage which is always fun.

"There's a whole bucket of wicked people playing as well, so yea, it's all good."

Rumours and guessing games about who will appear at Maidstone's Mote Park have been circulating ever since the festival was announced in February.

The truth was finally revealed by DJ Chris Moyles on his Radio 1 show this morning, when he gave out the first confirmed details about the bands and how people can get tickets.

Registration for Radio 1's Big Weekend opened on the Radio 1 website at 8.30am today and closes at 10am Monday, April 28.

Tickets are free but you'll need to register your details.

Tickets are limited. Preference will be given to people living in and around Maidstone.

Successful applicants will get a pair of tickets for their chosen day.

Further announcements will be made by other Radio 1 DJs throughout the day.
