Maidstone Ladies 1sts were caught cold after the long trip to Dereham to take on last season’s East Premier Division runners-up.

The home side opened the scoring after nine minutes and were 2-0 up seven minutes later after a Maidstone pass was intercepted.

Dereham had two players sent-off after the break but Hotson was denied a penalty flick and the visitors’ miserable day was complete when the home side added a late third.

Maidstone will look to bounce back against West Herts at home on Saturday.

Maidstone men's 1sts fired three early goals on their way to a 4-1 win in their final friendly at Ashford on Saturday. They open their South League Premier Divison campaign at Brighton on Saturday.
