Maidstone boss Peter Nott has refused to panic, despite starting the Ryman League Premier Division season with back-to-back defeats.

United host Bury Town on Saturday and Nott said: "There is no need to panic, but we need to get up and running, otherwise people will start to get jittery.

"We have made too many mistakes and we need to cut them out."

Stones are set to face former captain Jay Saunders and striker James Pinnock at Margate on Bank Holiday Monday, just months after their acrimonious departure.

Nott (pictured) said: "It will be tasty, but there are no scores to settle. Winning is what is important to us."

Marc Cumberbatch faces months out after knee surgery to deal with tendonitis and Nott has approached clubs for three players, including Sittingbourne’s Joe Vines. He said: "We are very stretched at the moment, injuries and suspensions have hurt us."

James Peacock is back from suspension but Jermaine Darlington is banned for Saturday and unavailable for Margate. Antonio Gonnella is a doubt with a knee injury, while Danny Hockton has a bug.
