Police arrested a 20-year-old man this morning (November 26) after gardens at the Lockmeadow complex in Maidstone were damaged.

A car is thought to have driven over the gardens causing damage to the plants.

Officers made the arrest after an Auto Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) camera in Maidstone was activated.

The incident caused long delays for drivers heading towards the Maidstone Bridge roundabout.

A man is currently being questioned at Maidstone Police station.
