Man in bridge fall tragedy is named

KENT Police have identified a man who died when he fell from a bridge on the M20 motorway earlier this month.

He was 62-year-old Alan Murphy, of Basing Close, Maidstone. His body was discovered on the London-bound carriageway near junction 7 (A249 Maidstone/Sheerness), on Sunday, November 5.

A post-mortem examination later revealed that he died from multiple injuries.

The road was closed for about two hours after Mr Murphy’s body was found at about 9.45am.

Police are not treating his death as suspicious. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
