Police have arrested two men after a hit and run in Barker Road, Maidstone, in the early hours of Wednesday

A man had his leg broken in two places when he was struck by a van in a hit and run incident in Maidstone.

The 22-year-old was hit at 2.30am on Wednesday in Barker Road.

After a search of the area immediately after the accident, two men, aged 21 and 24 years old, who are from Yorkshire, were stopped and arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They were interviewed and released on bail further inquiries.

The injured man had to have an operation on his leg.

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or events leading up or following it, to contact them.
