Pedestrian killed crossing the road

A MAN has died in hospital after being struck by a car while crossing the road.

The accident took place when the 55-year-old victim was crossing from the B&Q car park in Barker Road, passing the Lockmeadow Complex, Maidstone, at around 3.25pm on Friday.

He was struck by a silver Vauxhall Vectra and thrown onto the pavement.

He suffered serious head injuries and although he was taken to Maidstone Hospital, he later died.
