Lorry's unstable load causes delays on M20 junction 6 slip road

Traffic is backing up on the approach to a motorway after a lorry carrying wood had its load become unstable.

The M20 slip road at junction 6 London bound was closed, causing disruption to the north of Maidstone.

Traffic conditions have since returned to normal.

Motorists were advised to use the A249 to junction 7 or the A20 to junction 5 to access Maidstone.

In a separate incident earlier, a lorry lost a tyre on the M20 between junctions 7 and 6.

Kent Police were called at 6.20am after the vehicle stopped on the hard shoulder of the London bound carriageway.
