A road has reopened after closing in both directions following a multi-vehicle crash.

The A20 Ashford Road shut between Otham Lane and Yeoman Lane in Bearsted, Maidstone, at about 2pm today.

Motorists were caught in heavy delays after the collision which involved two vehicles, with a further two suffering minor damage.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “This was a collision in Ashford Road, Bearsted, involving four vehicles and which was reported to us at 1.44pm.

“Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) attended and there were no serious injuries reported.

“Police have now left the scene, but there may be delays whilst recovery continues of some of the vehicles involved.”
