Seven arrested in police raids

Seven people were arrested as a 40-strong team of police swooped on addresses in Maidstone and Mid Kent.

The operation on Thursday, March 4 targeted suspected burglars, and involved officers from two Uniformed Tactical Teams, a Neighbourhood Task Team and Neighbourhood Teams from Maidstone, Sittingbourne and Sheerness.

  • In Stanhope Road, Maidstone a 27-year-old woman and two men, one aged 19 and one aged 34, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. They have been bailed until Monday, April 26.
  • In Wallis Avenue, Maidstone, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary but released without charge.
  • A 15-year-old boy from Chart Sutton has been charged with burglary and will appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Monday March 15.
  • In Sutton Road, Maidstone, a 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with handling stolen goods, possessing a class B drug and cultivating cannabis.
  • In Vincent Gardens, Sheerness a 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and breaching his bail conditions.
  • Officers in West Kent hit addresses in Aylesford, arresting one man on suspicion of burglary and another on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. A warrant was also executed in relation to car key burglaries.
