A crash involving six vehicles caused traffic problems on one of Kent's busiest commuter routes during Tuesday morning's rush-hour.

The collision blocked the Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A249 Detling Hill between Scragged Oak Road and junction 7 of the M20.

The incident started with a four-vehicle shunt shortly after 7.30am Tuesday, there was then a separate two-car crash.

One person was slightly injured, according to a police spokesman. An ambulance crew was called to the scene as a precuation.

The congestion has now cleared and traffic has returned to normal.
