Suspected rogue trader due in court after Maidstone elderly residents scammed on roofing job

A man accused of scamming elderly residents on a roofing job is due to appear in court.

The suspected rogue trader, Paddy Dorin, is alleged to have repeatedly visited a property in Maidstone over the course of six days, advising the occupants a number of roof tiles were missing which needed replacing.

It is then alleged a payment was made to the 31-year-old but no work was carried out at the Woolley Road house.

Mr Dorin, of Townfield Lane, Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire has since been arrested and charged with fraud by false representation and driving without insurance.

The suspect was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
