A firebug is facing jail after admitting starting three blazes in Maidstone town centre toilets on the same day.

Luke French, 20, admitted arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered at toilets in The Mall in the Chequers Centre, Sainsbury's in Romney Place and McDonald's in Week Street on April 27.

The prosecution at Maidstone Crown Court accepted his not guilty pleas to three more serious charges of arson with intent to endanger life.

French, of Stockbury House, Marigold Way, Maidstone, was remanded in custody for psychiatric reports until September 3.
