Rory Hill has left Tonbridge to rejoin his old Croydon Athletic boss Tim O’Shea at Blue Square Bet South bottom club Lewes.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been guaranteed first-team football with the Sussex strugglers, something which Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow won’t do but he has left the door open.

Warrilow, pictured, said: "Rory spoke to me a couple of weeks ago and his body language was telling me he would probably like to go.

"I left him out for tactical reasons a couple of games ago but he was substitute at Tooting in his last game on Saturday. He is a good player, was in my plans and I have told him if things don’t work out to give me a ring."

Meanwhile, defender Scott Gooding is set to miss the rest of the season, after being diagnosed with cruciate ligament damage.

He needs another operation on the same knee he injured last season. On that occasion, he suffered a broken kneecap which put him out for eight months.

Warrilow was pleased with the 5-1 win at Tooting last week – after being 4-0 up at the break. He said: "We flew out of the blocks and killed the game off. We took our chances and it makes life so much easier when you do that."

However, he wasn’t so happy with the 2-0 Kent Senior Cup defeat at Dartford on Tuesday night and made his views known afterwards.

Tonbridge’s five-match winning Ryman League Premier Division run which has pushed them into sixth place will be be tested by fourth-placed Lowestoft at Longmead tomorrow.

John Beales (ankle) and Ben Judge (flu) missed the Dartford game while Scott Kinch suffered an arm injury at Princes Park and X-rays have revealed tissue
damage.
