Tommy Warrilow is urging his Tonbridge side to improve as the race for the Ryman League Premier Division play-off campaign gathers pace.

Angels slipped to fourth in midweek, following another mixed bag of results for several of their rivals.

Warrilow (pictured) said: "This league is all about ifs, buts and maybes, and will be between now and the rest of the season. It’s not just us, a few clubs have had good and bad times, but we have a had a few bad ones lately."

Only six points separate Tonbridge from Cray Wanderers who are 11th, and Warrilow will send his players out to face Wealdstone at Longmead on Saturday demanding 100 per cent commitment after their 1-0 defeat at Canvey last weekend.

"We still have 24 points to play, and need to up our game and get back to winning ways," he said.

"We have got another free week and I want the boys to come back in afterwards knowing all of them had done their jobs. I couldn’t say that looking around our changing room at Canvey."

Danny Walder and Lewis Taylor both miss Saturday’s game after being sent off in the first meeting earlier this month.

Warrilow said of Wealdstone: "They are a good, hardworking, well-organised side, but in this league you never know quite what you will get from one game to the other."
