Town gets new guide for disabled people

An in depth guide to living and working in the County Town for disabled people will be on the web within the next six months.

The detailed guide will tell people which restaurants have accessible toilets, which theatres have audio-described performances, and even which bars play background music.

It will be available at Maidstone council’s website.

The guide is being researched by specialist company DisabledGo, which will also have the information on its website.

Anna Borthwick, general manager at DisabledGo, said: “The first stage of the process, the consultation event, has been held and DisabledGo would welcome further feedback from local people regarding what venues they would like to see included in the guide. Our website currently covers more than 55 areas across the UK and we feel Maidstone will be a great addition.”
