Crash on the A229 Royal Engineers Road in Maidstone

A truck has been left overturned after a crash on the Ringlestone roundabout in Maidstone this afternoon.

The accident happened just before 2pm on the A229 Royal Engineers Road and also involved a lorry.

The incident closed the southbound carriageway with long delays stretching back to the Running Horse roundabout at J6 on the M20 while police and paramedics attended the scene.

Northbound traffic was also queuing on the approach to the area.

No one has been reported injured.

A spokesman for Kent Police, said: "There will be some local congestion and drivers may wish to seek an alternative route into the town centre."
