Teenager and Jack Davis of Wadhurst, East Sussex, charged after car driven wrong way down Loose Road, Maidstone

Detectives investigating reports of a car driving the wrong way down a street have charged a 26-year-old man with dangerous driving.

Seven police cars were spotted in Sheal's Crescent as officers dealt with a crash at around 1.20pm on Sunday, January 27.

Two people have now been charged in connection with the incident.

Jack Davis, of Pell Green, Wadhurst, East Sussex, was charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.

He appeared by video link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 28, where he was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on a date to be confirmed.

A 17-year-old boy from Tonbridge was also arrested on Sunday, January 27, and was later charged with a public order offence.

He has been bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on February 12.
