TWO people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries, after an accident involving a motorcycle and a truck on the M20.

The accident happened close to junction 6 (Chatham/Sandling turn-off) of the London-bound carriageway at about 2.45pm yesterday.

A woman was airlifted by Kent Air Ambulance to the London Royal Hospital where she was being treated for serious head injuries. A man was taken to Maidstone Hospital with collar bone and chest injuries.

The main carriageway was closed and traffic diverted along the parallel slip road.

There was congestion tailing back from the scene of the collision.

Kent Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash.
