TWO people were injured, one seriously, after a collision involving a motorcycle and a lorry on the M20 motorway.

A man and woman were on the motorcycle. The Kent Air Ambulance airlifted the woman, who suffered serious head injuries, to the London Royal hospital.

The man was taken by land ambulance to Maidstone Hospital suffering from collar and chest injuries.

The collision happened at around 2.45pm on Wednesday on the main London-bound carriageway of the motorway just after junction 6 near Maidstone. No other vehicle was involved.

The main London-bound carriageway was closed and traffic diverted along the parallel service road.
