Jay Saunders is suffering from a calf strain

Maidstone v Carshalton

Maidstone United face the prospect of being without both their captain Ben Lewis and vice-captain Jay Saunders for the Ryman League Premier Division home game against promotion rivals Carshalton Athletic at Bourne Park (Tuesday).

Lewis misses out again with a back injury while Saunders is struggling to recover from a calf strain picked up in the 3-2 defeat by Wealdstone at Ruislip on Saturday.

Aaron Lacy, Seb Schoburgh and Kevin Watson are all chasing a place in the starting line-up, having been on the bench at the weekend, and joint-manager Lloyd Hume said: "We have got a few options available to us, and make sure we pick the right ones."

He added: Carshalton are a good footballing side, with similar play-off ambitions to ourselves, and if there is a game that is a "six-pointer" at this stage of the season, then this is one of them."

Carshalton are likely to include new signings, ex-Tonbridge and Welling midfielder Ryan Martin and striker Michael Power who has joined from Margate in their squad.
