Maidstone v Tonbridge

Maidstone and Tonbridge go head-to-head in a west Kent derby in the Ryman League Premier Division at Bourne Park on Saturday.

After three consecutive victories, the Stones are up to fourth but joint-boss Lloyd Hume admitted it would be a tough test against Tommy Warrilow’s side.

He said: "It will be a tough game and it will be a derby which will add a bit of spice. Tonbridge will want to bounce back but we want to keep our run going.

"We really want the fans to get behind us and encourage the players, when things aren’t going well as well as when they are. We want to get the bragging rights after the game."

He added: "Me and Alan are looking at it like it is just another game, another three points to play for. Hopefully the players will go out there, do their jobs and get us another result."

Kevin Watson missed the Ramsgate game with a back problem but is expected to be fit for Saturday.

Nathan Paul will be eligible as his suspension does not begin until after the FA Cup first round tie with Tooting and Mitcham next Saturday.

Andy Martin has been away but, despite being back in contention, is unlikely to feature this weekend as the managers want to stick to a winning squad.

Warrilow insists he prefers playing Maidstone following successive defeats rather than a softer option.

"Would I prefer to be playing a side at the foot of the table after the week we’ve had? Not likely," said Warrilow.

"If you can’t play in these derbies then you want to manage in them. As usual, I’m sure there will be a big crowd producing a white-hot atmosphere.

"Our players will be fired up and so will Maidstone’s, especially after the start they’ve had. The match presents an opportunity for our players to bounce back.

"Beat Maidstone and everything that’s gone on before is forgotten."

Angels welcome back defensive strong-man Leon Legge who missed Tuesday’s match with a dead-leg but midfielder Ade Olurunda is out for six weeks with damaged ankle ligaments sustained in Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Tooting & Mitcham.

Lewis Hamilton, who was carried off against Tooting with damaged knee ligaments, should be fit to resume against Maidstone.
