Maidstone United v Erith & Belvedere

MAIDSTONE welcome in-form Kent League side Erith & Belvedere to Bourne Park on Saturday in the FA Cup first qualifying round.

Stones boss Alan Walker has targeted a lucrative cup run to boost the club coffers and is confident that despite his side's league struggles they can impose themselves on a team two rungs below them on the football ladder.

Walker said his side would treat their opponents with due respect but would go all-out to record a morale-boosting victory.

He said : "We would like to have a good cup run. The prize money would be good for the club and would make the chairman happy."

He added: "It is a very tricky tie, they went to Ashford - who are no mugs under Clive Walker - and won 2-0 with 10 men which augurs well for them.

"But as far as I am concerned it is all about us. If we perform how we know we can perform I think we are a match for anyone on our day - it just depends if it’s our day."

Mario McNish returns to the squad after a one-match ban and could slot straight into the starting line-up.

New arrival from Chatham Darren Smith - who started on the right of midfield at Hendon and came off after an hour after a quiet debut - will miss the clash as he is cup-tied.
