Harrow v Maidstone

Maidstone joint-manager Lloyd Hume is hoping his side can build on their encouraging start to the season in Saturday's trip to Harrow.

The Stones are fourth in the Ryman League Premier Division and Hume said: “Before the season started I wanted us to finish in the top-10, people say it is still early but we are already two games away from a quarter of the way through the season.

“You really know how you are doing by how you come out in January. I would like to stay in and around the top-eight. In touch, within three points. We talk with the players about it a lot.”

The Stones will have to change a winning side on Saturday as midfielder Jay Saunders is suspended.

Hume said: “Jay has been our most significant player this season. We will miss him. He was superb on Saturday, but we have no worries about John Wilfort coming in.

“He is a midfielder but he has always had to play out of position since he joined us. Hopefully he’ll come in and make the place his own.”

He added: “We will make a few changes on Saturday. Andy Martin will come in. He has shown a first class attitude, he has trained impeccably both with the rest of the team and on his own and has really been a first class professional. He has earned a place.”
