Sevenoaks stolen digger worth more than £15k tracked down by police

A stolen digger worth more than £15,000 has been recovered by police after it was taken from a building site.

The theft was reported to officers on Monday, after the construction equipment was last seen three days prior in Lambarde Road, Sevenoaks.

A wacker plate – which is used to create a level and compact surface – was also taken and is worth around £1,000.

Immediate inquiries were carried out and officers from the Rural Task Force tracked both items to Little Wood, only 1.2 miles away.

Patrols obtained an emergency warrant to enter a garage where they suspected the items were being hidden.

Once inside they recovered the equipment and inquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible for the thefts.
