Kent Police put dispersal order in place at Old County Ground, Norman Road, West Malling

Persistent anti-social behaviour in West Malling has forced police to put a dispersal order in place this weekend.

Residents have reported nuisance behaviour around the Old County Ground in Norman Road where teams play cricket.

A police spokesman said: "It is being put in place following recent reports of nuisance behaviour from people gathering next to an area which is used to by local cricket teams and for coaching sessions.

"Previous dispersal orders at this location have been enforced to deal with issues including people using off road motorbikes, problems with littering, abusive language and criminal damage."

The order will be in place from 4pm tomorrow (Friday) until 4pm on Sunday.

The spokesman continued: "While the order is in place any person over 10 years of age can be directed to leave the locality and not return for a stated period of time if an officer or PCSO has reasonable grounds to suspect that behaviour has contributed, or is likely to contribute, to the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed."
