Work to lay a new gas main is expected to cause delays for motorists when it starts today.

SGN has been given permission to close part of Lunsford Lane and Partridge Avenue in Larkfield.

Lunsford Lane will be closed between the junctions of Willow Road and Partridge Avenue.

Partridge Avenue will be closed from the junction with Lunsford Lane to the extent indicated by signs at the site.

The alternative route for through traffic is via Lunsford Lane, the A20 London Road, New Hythe Lane, Leybourne Way, Gighill Road and Partridge Avenue.

The road is usually a bus route for the Arriva 71 service which will be affected.

The work is due to be completed by August 31.
