Hundreds of jobs are set to be created after three new firms move to a new logistics park in the county.

Delivery company DHL, temperature-controlled logistics company Fowler Welch, and a UK leader in the manufacture of pitched roof systems for the construction market, Marley, are all moving to the Panattoni Park in Aylesford.

They are the latest to be handed the keys to their properties at the 90-acre site close to Junction 4 of the M20, which was the former Reeds papermil site.

The site is being redeveloped by Panattoni, who have already leased premises to delivery company Evri.

DHL will use its building as a “last-mile hub” to serve its customers across the South East.

Fowler Welch has announced that it expects to create 200 jobs at the new facility.

Marley will be relocating its current operation and staff from Wrotham, which is just six miles away.

Panattoni has purchased Marley’s exising site and plans a new development there too.

Panattoni spokesman Alex Mitchell said: “The handing over of the three buildings marks another major milestone for our Aylesford development.

“We are determined to deliver on our promise to build a logistics and distribution facility that is a benchmark for sustainability and a home for thousands of new jobs for Kent.”

A spokesman for DHL Express added: “We’re delighted to begin operating from our new site in Aylesford.

“This new facility has been built to the highest environmental standard and includes state-of-the-art operational features that enable faster processing and allow us to better serve the local community."
