A serial flasher who gained notoriety as "the naked carpenter" is back behind bars after falling foul of sexual offenders' register terms.

Maidstone Crown Court was told Robert Jenner, 47, previously of Snodland, also turned up at a police station to sign the register and began to remove his clothes, although this did not constitute a breach.

He admitted three breaches which took place within weeks of his release from a prison sentence imposed after he walked through Maidstone wearing see-through trousers.

The former soldier first made headlines in 2016 after doing up his house in Eccles in the nude, despite the protestations of outraged neighbours.

Since then he has been in and out of court for a series of exposure offences.

In 2019 he was jailed for two years for 10 exposure offences committed while working as a Hermes delivery driver while wearing a pair of jeans with a hole cut in the crotch.

He was also made subject to a seven-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and was made to sign the sex offenders' register for 10 years.

Shortly after he was released he threatened to sue a witness after tracking her down on social media and was then arrested after police spotted him walking along St Faith's Street wearing see-through trousers after a drinking session at Wetherspoon.

"The defendant was laughing, he called himself Mr Inappropriate. Officers asked if he was wearing anything under his trousers and he said socks," prosecutor Daniel Stevenson said at the time.

Jenner was jailed for a year for exposure, malicious communications and breach of a CBO.

He was once again made subject to seven-year CBO and a 10-year notification requirement, which required him to regularly report his whereabouts to the police and inform them of any change of address.

After being released from prison in April 2021 Jenner was at first complying with the notification requirement and told police he was homeless, prosecutor Lucy Luttman told a hearing on Tuesday.

But on May 16 he informed officers he had moved to an address on Tonbridge Road which didn't exist. A week later he arrived at the station a day late.

On one occasion he did turn up but removed his clothes, but Ms Luttman said this did not constitute a breach. Nor did an occasion when he refused to speak.

On June 20 he turned up but complained he did not agree with the order. He did not show up again and was arrested on July 1.

"He answered largely no comment in interview but said he disputed the fact he was a registered sex offender and said he was insulted by the use of the term," Ms Luttman said.

Eve George, defending, told the court Jenner had admitted the offences at an early opportunity and had already spent five months in custody.

"He served in the Army for 10 years. It is possible he is suffering with some form of PTSD and he will be seeking counselling," she said.

Sentencing Jenner to 10 months in jail for each offence to run concurrently Judge David Griffith-Jones QC said: "It is apparent that you are contemptuous of the normal obligations of a person in modern day society."

He told him he would serve up to half his term before being released and given his period already spent in custody "it may be that you see yourself released very soon".

Jenner, bearded and wearing a fleece, did not respond to the sentence as he watched proceedings from a room at Elmley prison.
