Police appeal after teenager 'sexually assaulted' in Parr Avenue, Gillingham

Police are hunting a man after a teenager was allegedly sexually assaulted in Gillingham.

A man made sexual references to a teenage girl before touching her inappropriately over her clothing in Parr Avenue, Gillingham, at around 7.40am this morning.

When she resisted the man grabbed her by her throat.

Witnesses driving past the incident stopped to help, and the man ran away in the direction of Garfield Avenue.

The man is described as black, in his 20s, 5ft 10in with short dark hair.

He was reported to have been wearing a pair of blue dental braces and was wearing a light grey hooded top and light-coloured trousers.

Investigating officer DS Nicholas Sparkes said: "This incident was reported to us this morning and we are in the early stages of establishing the circumstances around it.

"We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or believes they may have information related to the incident."
