Arrests after fight outside Grain pub

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a fight broke out between four men on the Isle of Grain at the weekend.

Officers were called out to the High Street shortly after midnight on Sunday (Aug 12), after a fight broke out outside the Hogarth pub.

Two men were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment but were not seriously injured.

The area was cordoned off by police shortly after the incident and at about 10.30am the same morning, forensic officers arrived to carry out a detailed examination of the area.

A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed they thought four people where involved in the fight, which happened at about 12.10am.

Both men who were injured have now been discharged from the Gillingham hospital.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for witnesses.

A spokesman for Kent Police, said: "Two men, aged 30 and 36 and both from the Isle of Grain, have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

"They have been bailed until Monday, September 3, pending further enquiries."
