The Rochester bridges will be partly closed for five nights, starting tonight, for essential works.

The work will be carried out by FM Conway on behalf of the Rochester Bridge Trust and includes cleaning the Old Bridge’s deck steelwork and parapet, decorative features and expansion joints, as well as the New Bridge’s perforated kerbs and expansion joints.

Various individual lane closures will be required on both bridges, but neither one will be completely closed at any time.

These will take place overnight in order to minimise disruption to road-users.

It is expected the works will be completed within five nights.
