Police called to probe a burglary made a surprise discovery - a cannabis factory.

Officers were called to a property in Rochester High Street on Friday morning, near Nag’s Head Lane.

The routine call quickly turned into a drugs bust when they discovered an unspecified number of cannabis plants inside.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police received a report that a property had been broken into sometime between June 21 and June 28.

“When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a cannabis factory at the property. The plants have been seized and investigations are ongoing.”
