Police unearth almost 250 cannabis plants at house in Strood

Police have unearthed almost 250 cannabis plants at a home in Strood.

Officers discovered the plants at an address in Glanville Road, after initially being called to a suspected burglary.

When police arrived at the home they found the front door partially open and discovered 247 cannabis plants inside in several rooms.

There were no signs of a burglary.

Electricity had also been abstracted illegally from the property and an electrician had to be called to make the home safe.

The find was discovered last Tuesday, March 10, but details have only just been released by police.

A spokesman for police said: "At present no arrests have been made and inquires are ongoing."
