A woman had a lucky escape after her car overturned in wet conditions on a road in Gillingham.

Firefighters were called to Lower Rainham Road after the car ended up on its roof near to Riverside Country Park.

A crew from Medway fire station was called out at about 8pm on Monday and had to make the scene of the incident safe.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "The woman had managed to get herself out of the car by the time we arrived and had not suffered serious injury.

"We made sure the car was safe and were only there for about 10 minutes."
