A carer will stand trial charged with neglecting or ill-treating four elderly residents at a Borstal care home.

Adedun Akisanya is accused of sleeping when one resident had a fit, pushing another and also shoving a flannel in the mouth of a resident at Copper Beeches Care Home.

The 49-year-old, of Mark Street, Chatham, pleaded not guilty when she appeared before Medway magistrates.

She has been charged with four counts of wilfully neglecting or ill-treating four residents at the Sylewood Close home.

Akisanya will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday, February 1.
