Two car crash blocks off Rochester Esplanade

A woman has been taken to hospital after a two car crash on Rochester Esplanade.

Police and South East Coast Ambulance were called at 9.30am to a report of a road traffic collision between two cars.

A 39-year-old woman in one of the cars sustained back and neck injuries and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.

The male driver of the other car was unharmed.

It is believed one of the cars collided with the side of the other.

One of them, a black saloon car, was stationary across both lanes of the road.

Kent Fire and Rescue were also in attendance and traffic was being diverted around the cars by police officers for over an hour.

Emergency services left just after 10.35am.
