Crashes keep emergency services busy

A YOUNG moped rider had to be taken to hospital after he collided with another moped in Middle Stoke, Rochester, yesterday (Monday).
Firefighters and paramedics were called out to the Burrows Lane area of the village at about 3.30pm after the collision resulted in some petrol leaking on the road.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We made the crash scene safe by cleaning up the petrol.
“We also helped the paramedics put the young lad in the ambulance, he only had minor injuries.”
Later a people carrier was destroyed by fire on the M2 after a fire was sparked by an electrical fault in the vehicle’s dashboard.
Firefighters from Strood fire station were called out to the coastbound carriageway between the Strood and Chatham turn-offs at about 11pm on Monday night
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service, said: “There were two people in the car and both had managed to get out of the car after the driver pulled over. "We suspect the fire was started by an electrical fault in the dashboard and the vehicle, a Ford Galaxy, was well alight when we arrived.
“It has been destroyed by the flames.”
