Fire in Blenheim Avenue, Chatham

Fire crews were at the scene of a house blaze this afternoon.

Two engines were called to Blenheim Avenue, Chatham, at 1.15pm to find a large amount of black smoke issuing from the ground floor of the building.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered via the front entrance of the property and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.

There were no reported casualties and the cause is not yet known. Crews left just before 2pm.
