The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dead cat was found dumped in a bin bag in Chatham.

The tabby was discovered in Pagitt Street yesterday morning with a head injury.

RSPCA Inspector Ray Bailey collected the cat, which was male with a dark tail.

He said: "We don't know how this cat died so we would just like to hear from anyone with any information so we can rule out anything suspicious.""

Anyone with any information is asked to phone the RSPCA, in confidence, on 0300 1234999.
