A talented footballer has been forced to cancel trials with two professional clubs after he almost lost a finger in a dog attack.

Kobie Ambrose, 14, was dropping leaflets in Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, to earn extra pocket money when the attack happened on Sunday, July 26.

A dog snapped at his hand as he put it through a letterbox, lacerating all his fingers and almost ripping his index finger off. He needed 28 stitches.

It meant he was unable to travel for a try-out with Leyton Orient on Monday, and has also had to cancel a trial with Premiership club Tottenham Hotspur.
