Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving in Pier Road, Gillingham

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a vehicle crashed into railings.

Police were called to Pier Road, Gillingham at around 10.45am this morning following the smash.

The driver was taken to hospital for treatment.

A police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 10.42am to a report a car had collided with some railings in Pier Road, Gillingham.

“Officers attended the scene where a man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

“He was later released pending further enquiries.”
