Guns seized in police raid at home in Skinner Street, Gillingham

Three firearms have been seized after police were called to a home.

Officers carried out a search warrant at a property in Skinner Street, Gillingham, on Wednesday morning.

They seized three firearms and two men were arrested in connection with the incident.

A witness said: "I was passing through Jeffery Street nearby and noticed a heavy police presence.

"At the time there was about four police cars and a riot van. They had arrived very early, around 6am and were there all day.

"When I drove past the next day a riot van was still parked up."

One man has been released on bail pending further investigations.

Mark Arpa, 60, of Skinner Street, Gillingham, was charged with three counts of possession of a firearm.

He was later released on bail pending a court hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday, March 9.
