After more than five years, a flea market is returning to Rochester on Saturday.

The first of the new markets, at the Gordon Hotel in the High Street, is a sell-out with 35 stallholders booked in.

They include Medway artists who will be showcasing their work and live music at a buskers’ corner.

The new attraction is the brainchild of Rochester artist Tracy Affleck, pictured, who misses the old Saturday market in the Corporation Street car park.

She said: “I’ve been thinking about doing this for some time, but in the end, I thought 'I’m just going to do it'."

The free monthly market will be open from 11am to 4pm and will be held inside and outside the hotel.
